Registering your Final Draft or Final Draft AV Customer Number ensures that you are recognized as the legal owner of the software license and enables you to receive customer support. If you decide to sell or give away a Final Draft license that is in your name, you must complete and submit a Transfer of Ownership form. Unless and until this completed and signed form is received by Final Draft, Inc., the license will remain your property.

To transfer ownership of a Final Draft or Final Draft AV software license:

1. Verify that the license is registered by calling Final Draft, Inc. at 800-231-4055.
   
2. Deactivate Final Draft or Final Draft AV. If the software is not deactivated, the person to whom the license is being transferred will not be able to use it.
   
3. Click the link below to download the PDF Transfer of Ownership form. Print it and complete all sections.

4. Both you and the next license holder must sign the form.
   
5. Return the completed and signed form by mail or fax to:

IMPORTANT: Transfer of ownership applies to all upgraded versions of a retail product (not applicable to Mac App Store products). For example, if you first bought Final Draft v.6 and later upgraded to Final Draft v.8, you cannot use this form to transfer ownership of v.6. You must either transfer ownership of both versions or keep both versions; an upgrade is considered a continuation of an existing license and neither product can be given away or sold without the other.

If you are thinking of buying a used copy of Final Draft or Final Draft AV on eBay or some other online auction or classifieds site, please exercise caution.
