FINAL DRAFT™ Software and K12 Teacher Workbook - Now Curriculum Approved
California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) Approves Final Draft™ as Certified Usage Tool for Distance Education
Nov. 7, 2007-(Calabasas, CA)- Final Draft, Inc., publisher of Final Draft®, the #1-selling scriptwriting software, has been approved by the California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) as a curriculum tool for High School, Higher Ed and Continuing Ed teachers and students of Distance Learning courses. Final Draft software and the K12 Teacher Workbook are classroom tools for teachers who incorporate project-based learning and digital storytelling into their core subjects. With California’s school districts, along with an increasing number of states in the US, having adopted the Distance Learning requirement for all high school students Final Draft expects to see an increase of younger users of its products.
The Final Draft K12 Teacher Workbook was designed to help teachers use Final Draft software to meet technology requirements through digital storytelling in the classroom. The workbook can also be used to meet Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and Project-based Learning requirements. Final Draft continues to expand the workbook, which soon will include lessons for students with special needs and English language learners.
“Gaining CLRN approval is the first step in getting Final Draft software and the K12 Teacher Workbook approved as a curriculum tool on the National level and with other states where Distance Learning is being offered,” states Anne Lower, Director of Education and Outreach.
With Final Draft in the classroom, students will have the opportunity to experience project-based activities in reading, writing, presenting and production.
Lower also said, “Digital storytelling is a great way to engage and excite students about writing. Final Draft tools are essential for teachers using this approach.”
