Final Draft buys assets of Forum Publishing

Final Draft Inc., maker of the Final Draft scriptwriting software, paid an undisclosed amount to purchase the assets of Forum Publishing, publishers of Script magazine, the companies said Monday. Besides Script, Forum's assets include Scriptwriters Showcase, Take A Meeting and ScriptXpert.

"This will be the keystone in our efforts to provide tools, support, services, access and recognition for scriptwriters," said Final Draft CEO Marc Madnick. He said a Script magazine relaunch is under way for the January/February issue. Script editor in chief Shelly Mellott will also serve as Final Draft vp of Events & Publications.
