METHOD AND THE MEDIUM
The relationship between writers and technology has often been antagonistic

For filmscripts, Final Draft, now in its sixth release, is your only man. Many studios will now only accept scripts written with this program, which immediately formats your material into character, dialogue, action, shot, transition and so on. The peculiarities of script layout, with character's name centred over justified centred text, and the action range left, are very laborious to achieve using an ordinary word processing package.

THE DREAM WEAVING MACHINE
Screenwriting software helps aspiring and professional screenwriters write faster, clearer, and with more ease. But read the small print: it won’t make them better writers.

So you want to write a screenplay? Take a number. In a single year, some 10,000 feature film scripts are registered with the Writers Guild of America, West, a stunning figure when you consider that fewer than 500 films make it to the bug screen in the same period. While seminars, workshops, and Project Greenlight-style contests have helped feed the screenwriting mania, a large part of the craze can be directly attributed to screenplay formatting software.

Harris and Dougherty: Mac-Scribed Mutants Unite
For screenwriters Dan Harris and Mike Dougherty, writing a successful sequel to the inordinately successful July 2000 film "X-men" ($300 million worldwide gross) was frequently less about mutations than permutations. "There were 26 official studio drafts," says Harris, "and several hundred between us and director Bryan Singer."

Final Draft Script Writing Software Review
I’ve got something special for all of you Camheads out there who are doing productions and looking for screenplay software. For you, I have my review of Final Draft 6. Trust me whether you’re a hotshot with a couple of Sony HD cams, an indie with a DVX100, or a newcomer with two JVC JY-VS200s, almost every great production starts with a good script.

Final Draft 6 Review
Ever have an idea that you think would make a great movie or television program? Want to write it down like a professional easily and quickly? Then the Final Draft software is for you. I’m a publisher and its my job to keep my writers busy creating scripts, stories and songs. I want their time to be spent creatively...not hitting space bars and tabs, counting lines and indentations.
