Juliette's introduction to filmmaking was through her participation in American Film Institute's 2001 Directing Workshop for Women where she wrote and directed her first short film, Spiral. She recently participated in NALIP’s 2009 Latino Producer’s Lab where she shot scenes from her soon-to-be-produced screenplay, SuperChicas. These scenes are excerpts from the up-and-coming short to be produced in 2010. This short was shot during the 2009 NALIP Producer’s Lab in Santa Fe, which was sponsored by Final Draft, Inc.

Summary:
Marisol and Trina, two East Los Angeles teens, are sick of the crime in their neighborhood. Not only are the gangs killing each other, they are turning on their own community. Something needs to change. Inspired by Batman comics, the girls use their ingenuity to transform themselves into low-tech, homegrown, Macgyver-like Superheroes and take back their neighborhood one homeboy at a time.
