5. Spotlight On: NBC Universal DiverseCity Initiative

Final Draft, Inc is a proud partner of the Comedy Short Cuts DiverseCity Film Festival, a flagship program of the NBC Universal Diversity Initiative. The festival is geared towards seeking out emerging talent of diverse backgrounds, including directors, actors, producers, and writers.

NBC Universal's Comedy Short Cuts is much more than a screening of short films - the goal of the program is to display and celebrate diversity in entertainment while providing individuals the opportunity to get material in front of decisions makers. Representatives from the NBC Universal family -- as well as agents, managers, producers, and other industry players from a wide range of companies — are always in attendance.

In addition to the networking opportunities provided for new talent, select films from last year’s semi-finalists will be aired on The Sundance Channel; included in the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal; presented with a pilot script commitment from Universal Media Studios -- and much more. The exclusive invitation-only event celebrating this year’s finalists will take place October 3, 2007 in L.A.

Final Draft strives to educate, advance  and celebrate the scriptwriter. Supporting initiatives such as NBC  Universal’s DiverseCity aligns with our corporate philosophy.
