Also in this issue, Michael Goldenberg explains the challenges of being a pinch-hitter on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg describe the 11-year evolution of their script for Superbad, Leslie Dixon talks big hair and big dreams in her adaptation of Hairspray, and Weeds creator Jenji Kohan takes us behind the scenes of her "suburban, widowed, pot-dealing mom" Showtime series.

Introducing the new screenwriting competition that’s truly kosher. The American Jewish University (formerly The University of Judaism), known for its many prestigious educational programs, has launched The Bruce Geller Screenwriting Competition. Why is the Geller Screenwriting Competition different from other screenwriting competitions? The GSC only accepts screenplays with a Jewish theme, angle, component or facet. “Judaism has a rich tradition of great storytelling,” says Program Director Stephanie Cornick. “Thanks to The Geller Screenwriting Competition, that tradition will continue to grow and flourish. Top prize is $25,000 and first two runners-up receive $5,000. Final deadline is July 31, 2007. For an application and complete information,
