Final Draft Inc., makers of the top selling screenplay software
Final Draft 5.0, announced today the availability of the latest
addition to their product line: Final Draft AV. Final Draft AV (Audio/Video)
is a self-contained, full-featured word processor specifically designed
for dual-column, audio/video scriptwriting. It combines powerful
word-processing with a variety of industry formats in one self-contained,
easy-to-use application. The dual-column, audio-video script format
is used by writers, producers and directors who create commercials,
corporate videos, documentaries, music videos, radio spots, news,
infomercials, speeches, corporate presentations, etc. Final Draft
AV comes with both Windows and Macintosh software on a single CD-ROM.
It retails for US$249, but is available at the introductory price
of US$149 from Final Draft, Inc. at (800) 231-4055 (International
+1.818.995.8995), It is also available in an electronic version
(downloadable). Marc Madnick, President and CEO of Final Draft Inc.
said, "Final Draft screenplay software has been the ultimate
choice for writers of television and film for the past decade. Our
goal with Final Draft AV is to similarly transform the way dual-column
scripts are written. Now, a writer never has to retype, rearrange
or repaginate manually since Final Draft AV lines up the columns
and handles it all automatically. Previously, to keep these segments
aligned properly, users with generic word-processors had to use
text boxes or tables, or use third-party formatting software. Final
Draft AV solves this problem" Besides the ability to keep columns
aligned, Final Draft AV also includes a customizable header and
footer, a full featured spell-checker and thesaurus, import and
export capabilities and 100% cross-platform compatibility.
