FINAL DRAFT, INC. AND SYD FIELD
TEAM TO CREATE "HOW TO" VIDEO
Screenwriting Software Leader and Legendary Screenwriting Instructor
Produce At-Home Screenwriting Course For Writers
Los Angeles, February 10, 1999
Final Draft, Inc. (formerly B.C. Software, Inc.) and best-selling
author and world-enowned screenwriting instructor Syd Field today
announced the release of the highly anticipated video "Syd
Field's Screenwriting Workshop". (Also available as a set
of high-quality audio cassettes). Syd Field is regarded by entertainment
professionals as the foremost authority on the craft of screenwriting
in the world today. Thousands of screenwriters credit Field as
their mentor, including many of the most famous names in Hollywood.
His books, including Screenplay, The Screenwriter's Workbook,
Selling A Screenplay and The Screenwriter's Problem Solver have
sold over 800,000 copies, have been translated into 16 languages
and are used in colleges and universities as a teaching aid around
the world. The Hollywood Reporter heralds Syd Field as "The
most sought after screenwriting teacher in the world." Limited
to 12 students at a time, Field's course normally costs thousands
of dollars. The video version, at a fraction of the price, takes
the writer on the same instructional journey, designed to help
turn a story into a fully-realized screenplay. "After taking
this course, you will be able to convert your creative idea into
a properly-structured screenplay that you can submit to Hollywood
producers with confidence," says Field, "and hopefully
launch your lucrative screenwriting career." "
Syd Field's Screenwriting Workshop" was produced by Harley's
House, a Santa Monica-based production company, and Final Draft
co-founder, CEO Marc Madnick. "During the filming of this
video, Syd was so passionate in his teachings, that we had to
stop the production numerous times because he would get emotionally
choked up," said Madnick. "It really moved me, and I
am sure that his knowledge and passion will motivate writers everywhere."
The suggested retail price of the two-video set is seventy-nine
dollars and is available directly from Final Draft, Inc., as well
as in selected video and software outlets. Overseas distribution
of foreign language versions is planned for fourth quarter 1999.
