14th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, August 2010
Hollywood, CA

Final Draft, Inc. is proud to support the 14th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival held August 19 through August 25 at the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood. The 14th LALIFF featured 91 films from 20 countries representing the Latin filmmaking community.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Patricia Velasquez, Paola Turbay, Edward James Olmos, Dayanara Torres, Marlene Dermer, and many others attended the opening night gala. The Rita Award was given to Fina Torres' Habana Eva for best feature film. The award for best documentary was shared by Jose Sanchez-Montes Gonzalez's Tiempo De Leyenda and Eduardo de la Serna's, Lucas Marcheggiano's and Adriana Yorcovich's El Ambulante.

In conclusion to its 2010 Youth Program the LALIFF announced a special award from the British Film Academy (BAFTA) presented to Franchesco Ramos' Breakaway for Best High School Film. As part of the award, the British Film Academy will make 100 DVD presentation copies of Ramos' film.
