After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, Scott McMenamin began a successful career in the management of sales and client relations. Since 2000, McMenamin has held various positions within the accounting and sales departments at Final Draft, A Cast & Crew Entertainment Company. In his current position, McMenamin uses his 14 years of experience to oversee the expansion of the consumer retail channel worldwide and the professional and educational sales divisions. Along with his position at Final Draft, Scott is a husband and a father who enjoys sporting events, surfing, and down time with his family and friends.
Steve Brost is the Chief Architect of Final Draft. Before becoming Chief Architect Steve was a developer for 13 years on Final Draft 5 through Final Draft 10 and lead developer on Final Draft Reader and Final Draft Writer for iOS. He has also developed many internal development tools for Final Draft. His current responsibilities include working with Vice President of Product Development on planning new features in all of the company’s products and managing the engineering teams. Steve is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Before receiving his Master of Fine Arts from the School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California, Joel Levin was an assistant cameraman in New York. During and after USC, he worked in feature film and television development at Jersey Films, The Family Channel, MTM, Nickelodeon Movies, and Alliance-Atlantis Television. He has also worked at a literary agency and as a script reader. Levin has headed the technical support department since 2004 and has been with Final Draft, Inc. since 1999. When not in the office, he provides technical support to his wife and two young daughters.
Joe Jarvis attended Oklahoma University earning a BFA in Drama, and did grad work at University of Texas at Arlington in Management Information Systems. He managed a large service contract for City of Dallas, until moving to Hollywood in 1997 when he bought his first copy of Final Draft. In 1998 he sold a script to New Line Cinema. By 2000 had multiple script sales to his credit and a movie in production which was released in 2002 by Disney. In 2008 joined Final Draft Technical Support team, subsequently moving to the Engineering Department as a Subject Matter Expert. Joe became Product Manager responsible for bringing to market the Final Draft Reader and Final Draft Writer, (featured in Apple TV commercials!) and Final Draft 9, our best-selling release to date. Jarvis was promoted to VP of Product Development, now responsible for multiple development teams, product vision, and roadmap. Jarvis still finds some time to write while raising a couple of teenage sons.
Shelly Mellott took over Script magazine in 1995 from her father, who founded the business in 1985. She secured a newsstand presence for the publication and grew Script into a well-respected industry magazine. From 1995 to 2006, she created additional services for scriptwriters including script coverage, pitching events, and quarterly screenwriting contests sponsored by major production companies. In 2006, Mellott became a vice president at Final Draft overseeing the Big Break Contest, social media, events, and customer relations for the company. In 2015, she became Vice President of Sales & Marketing where she manages the professional and educational sales divisions, develops initiatives that drive sales across all retail channels, and manages marketing, events and customer relations. Mellott is a wife, mother, dressage rider, and avid reader. She is active in pug rescue and her daughter’s school. Her favorite things are good wine, good movies, and good friends.
