Final Draft, Inc. develops and publishes the entertainment industry's top-selling scriptwriting software products. Founded in 1991, the company is a pioneer and innovator in the scriptwriting software market; allowing writers to concentrate on the creative process instead of the formatting process.

Final Draft, Inc will be taking on several new initiatives in the coming months and is seeking web developers to work with our existing software development teams. This individual will report directly to our head of Technology in our Calabasas, CA offices.

About our open positions:
We have two open positions—one that is more front end focused, and one that is backend/server side focused.

Primary Objectives:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing web applications as part of a SaaS model using PHP and MySQL and will be comfortable in both front-end and back-end development. This individual will also have experience with database design, stored procedures, scripting and possesses the ability to write stored procedures and queries without difficulty. He/she is used to working in an Agile development environment where test driven development is in effect. He/she will be expected to interact with another team developing services in C# and be comfortable in C#/.NET. This individual is also someone who works well in a team environment, has solid development experience but is comfortable working on things in a self-directed manner.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing development in both LAMP and WAMP environment.
• Participating in new development and ongoing maintenance of a web subscription service
• Creating automated unit/acceptance tests as part of our test driven development process
• Participating in planning of development iterations

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of web development experience
• Extensive PHP and mySQL development experience
• Practical experience with JavaScript Frameworks/Toolkits, jQuery in particular
• Experience with ecommerce concepts and processes
• Strong hand coding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in non-WYSIWYG editors
• Experience with database design, stored procedures, scripting
• Experience writing stored procedures and queries
• Experience with System Development Life Cycle phases and Agile methodologies in particular
• Previous experience using Selenium or other test automation tools

Preferred:

• Previous experience using Perforce and Subversion
• Previous experience with SSL
• Previous experience with Test Driven Development
• Previous experience with JavaScript and shell scripting
• Previous experience with data encryption and AES
• Previous experience working with replication
• Previous experience working in a clustered environment
• Experience programming applications in C#/.NET
